Description
Lathyrus odoratus
Low-growing variety suitable for both flower beds and various outdoor containers! Sow the seeds either in mid-May outdoors or in mid-April in pots. It is recommended to soak the seeds for one day before sowing. Germinates at a temperature of 16…20°C for 10-18 days. Plant the seedlings in their growing location after the end of spring frosts. Sweet Pea does not tolerate transplanting well, so plant it properly with the root ball intact. It is recommended to pinch the tips of young plants to promote branching. Avoid excessive nitrogen fertilization – it results in abundant foliage but few flowers. Prefers soil with higher lime content. Regularly remove faded flowers along with seed pods – seed maturation exhausts the plant and inhibits the formation of new flowers. The plant is quite cold-resistant, tolerating some degrees below zero. Blooms from July onwards.
